Conventions of Thriller:
- Low lighting
- A lot of shadows , giving feeling of being followed
- Tension music
- Frequent changes in the angle of shots
- Protagonist is in mercy of the antagonist
- Main character introduced at start and is happy/ content with life
- Past comes back to haunt main character
- Music used to add suspense and tension but at start, music is calm and 'cheerful'
- Music starts off giving happy tone then to dramatic and tension
Mise en scence
- Mysterious location (establishes theme)
- Lighting is often low
- Antagonist wears dark clothing (if seen)
- Victim in ordinary everyday clothes
- Low Gradients.
